Julión Álvarez Delays Concert After Cancellation of Work Visas Affects Performance Schedule

Mexican singer Julión Álvarez has announced the postponement of his scheduled concert at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, citing the revocation of his work visa as the reason for the change. The concert was originally set for Saturday, but an official statement from Álvarez, show promoter CMN, and management company Copar Music indicated that it was canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The announcement confirmed that Álvarez was “unable to enter the United States in time for the event.”

In a video posted on Instagram, the 42-year-old musician explained that he and his bandmates were formally notified of the visa cancellation on May 23, one day before the concert.

A spokesperson from the U.S. State Department noted that visa records are confidential under U.S. law, preventing them from discussing individual cases when approached for comments by NBC News. The cancellation affects nearly 50,000 ticket holders, and both promoters and Álvarez’s team are working diligently to reschedule the concert. All tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid for the new performance.

Additionally, if attendees are unable to make the rescheduled event, information on how to request a refund will be provided. Saturday’s performance was meant to be Álvarez’s fourth show in the United States during his “4218 Tour USA 2025,” following three successful performances in April at SoFi Stadium in California. The artist has faced challenges with the U.S. government in the past, including accusations of money laundering in 2017 involving Mexican drug kingpin Raul Flores Hernández.

Although he was blacklisted by the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control at that time, he was removed from the list in May 2022. Álvarez has consistently denied any connections to Hernández, and his team has not yet responded to inquiries from NBC News.
