Chaos Ensues on Delta Flight as Pigeons Take Over the Main Cabin
On Saturday, a Delta flight experienced unexpected chaos when two pigeons were found in the main cabin, as shown in a viral video. The incident unfolded shortly before departure from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport when passenger Tom Caw spotted the first pigeon. According to Caw, the pilot was alerted about the situation and decided to return the flight to the gate to have the bird removed. Just as the flight was preparing for takeoff again, a second pigeon appeared, making its way down the main aisle, triggering screams from startled passengers.
Caw later recounted that when the pilot contacted the control tower regarding the return due to the initial pigeon, the air traffic controller mentioned it was a first for him. However, the pilot revealed that it was his second encounter with a pigeon that day, having dealt with the first one just half an hour prior. Delta Airlines later issued a statement addressing the disturbance, apologizing for the delay to the flight, which was headed to Madison, Wisconsin. The airline praised the efforts of both staff and passengers in safely removing the birds before departure, emphasizing that customer safety is a top priority.
The resolution came when a baggage handler successfully removed the second pigeon from the plane. Caw humorously speculated on social media that the pigeons might have been tired of flying and seeking snacks, noting that the brief nature of the flight meant there would be no food or drink service on board.
