Teen DOGE Staff Member ‘Big Balls’ Resigns from Trump Administration
Edward Coristine, a notable staff member in the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, has officially departed the federal government. At just 19 years old, Coristine, who earned the nickname “Big Balls,” was one of the original staff members of DOGE and has been a point of interest due to both his age and previous controversial job history, including being fired from an internship for leaking sensitive information. A spokesperson from the White House confirmed Coristine’s departure, but did not provide additional details.
His account on X, verified by NBC News, echoed this announcement, indicating he had left the government. Coristine’s tenure drew criticism from various sectors, particularly from federal workers and congressional Democrats who accused DOGE of recklessness in its approach to spending cuts. Coristine did not respond to inquiries following his exit, leaving the specifics of his departure unclear.
His departure adds to a list of notable exits from the DOGE initiative within the Trump administration. This includes tech magnate Elon Musk, who recently cut ties with the White House and made headlines with a brief public dispute with President Trump. Other notable departures include Musk’s chief aide, Steve Davis, and Amanda Scales from Musk’s AI venture, xAI.
On X, Coristine remarked about feeling relieved to be “officially out,” humorously mentioning a potential future in cryptocurrency scams. He hinted at sharing more regarding his situation soon. Previously, he had been affiliated with the State Department and was listed as a senior adviser at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency within the Department of Homeland Security before joining the General Services Administration.
In earlier discussions, he criticized the lack of accountability in federal spending practices.
