Alex Cooper Takes Aim at Those Accused of Enabling Harassment by Boston University Soccer Coach

Podcast star Alex Cooper has taken a brave step in publicly addressing her experience of alleged sexual harassment by her Boston University soccer coach, Nancy Feldman. Cooper expressed her frustration over a lack of accountability and justice, stating, “I’m coming for all of you.” In her newly released docuseries “Call Her Alex” on Hulu, Cooper reveals that the harassment spanned three years during her time as a student-athlete. On Instagram, she reflected on her relationship with Feldman, emphasizing that she had trusted her coach to be a mentor and protector.

Instead, Cooper described the experience as a “living hell,” where Feldman’s actions stripped her of her identity and affected her life for years without repercussions for the coach. Cooper played for the BU women’s soccer team between 2013 and 2015. Feldman, who retired in 2022 after 27 years with the program, is accused by Cooper of fixating on her inappropriately, making comments about her body, and attempting to isolate her. These allegations include intrusive questions about Cooper’s personal life, which contributed to an unsettling environment that ultimately left a lasting impact.

Despite reporting the abuse to the athletic director, Drew Marrochello, Cooper felt dismissed and ignored. Boston University reiterated its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment, providing resources for student wellbeing but did not comment specifically on Cooper’s claims. The catalyst for Cooper to share her story came when she learned that similar harassment was still occurring on campus. She now aims to advocate for others who have felt silenced, vowing to hold those who misuse their power accountable.

In her statement, she expressed a desire to be the voice she wished she had during her darkest times, promising support to those in need of it.
