Katy Perry Almost Falls into Crowd Due to Prop Malfunction During Midair Performance

Katy Perry faced a startling moment during her concert in San Francisco on Friday when she nearly fell on audience members. While performing her popular song “Roar” atop a giant fake butterfly, the prop malfunctioned and dropped several feet above the fans. Videos shared on X captured the intense moment, showing Perry momentarily pausing her performance to steady herself before continuing with the show. The incident took place at the Chase Center during her “Lifetimes Tour.”

Fortunately, it occurred during the final segment of the concert, which Perry completed without further issues. The following day, she took to her Instagram story to share a screenshot of herself during the fall, captioning it with “Good Night San Fran” to acknowledge the unexpected situation. Representatives for Perry did not provide a comment following the event. This mishap is not the first for the singer; a similar incident happened weeks earlier in Australia.

During that performance, Perry was in a flying sphere when it began to tilt dangerously. She was seen clinging to the wires of the prop to stabilize herself, a moment also captured on video. Interestingly, this trend of midair malfunctions seems to extend beyond Perry. Last month, Beyoncé experienced a comparable issue while performing during her “Cowboy Carter” tour in Houston.

During her show, a flying-car prop malfunctioned mid-performance, prompting her to pause before regaining her composure. Following the incident, she reassured the crowd, saying, “If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.” These moments highlight the unexpected challenges performers can face while delivering thrilling shows.
