Husband and ‘American Idol’ Music Supervisor Found Dead in Their Los Angeles Residence
On Tuesday, law enforcement apprehended a man in connection with the tragic shootings of Robin Kaye, a music supervisor for “American Idol,” and her husband, Thomas Deluca. The couple, both aged 70, were discovered deceased in their Los Angeles residence the day prior, leading to a swift investigation by the police. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that Kaye and Deluca were found around 2:30 p.m. on Monday after officers performed a welfare check at their home in Encino.
Concern arose when a call was made about their wellbeing, following several days without communication from the couple. Upon arriving, police noticed blood at the front door, intensifying their urgency. Raymond Boodarian, a 22-year-old also from Encino, was identified and arrested shortly after.
Although formal charges were not disclosed in a news release, police believe he is responsible for the double homicide. Investigators speculate that Boodarian may have entered their home through an unlocked door, as an earlier report indicated a potential burglary at the location a few days earlier. According to police, a confrontation likely ensued when Kaye and Deluca returned home, resulting in Boodarian allegedly shooting both individuals multiple times before fleeing on foot.
The investigation continues, with detectives attempting to determine any possible connections between Boodarian and the victims. In a statement reflecting the profound loss, a spokesperson for “American Idol” expressed deep sorrow, remembering Kaye as a cherished member of the show’s family since 2009. The representative conveyed the show’s condolences to Kaye and Deluca’s family and friends during this painful time.
