Four Individuals Injured in Shootings at Chattanooga Class Reunion; No Arrests Made Yet

On Saturday, a shooting at an alumni event in Chattanooga, Tennessee, left four people injured. According to a spokesperson from the Chattanooga Police Department, all injured individuals were hospitalized and treated for injuries that are not life-threatening.

However, police have not released details about any potential suspects or arrests. The incident occurred at the Tyner Recreation Complex, where a reunion was being held for graduates of Tyner High School, which has recently been renamed Tyner Middle High Academy.

This school had reopened earlier this year after the old campus was demolished to make way for a new facility. Prior to the event, the Tyner Alumni Association had announced participation from 38 different graduating classes as part of their alumni weekend.

An attempt to reach the association for comments from NBC News has not received a response as of Sunday. Witness Jeoff Herman described the chaotic scene to local NBC affiliate WRCB, stating, “Everybody was just having a good time.

Then all of a sudden, shots just started going everywhere.” He mentioned that there were children and babies present at the event, and they quickly found themselves on the ground amidst the chaos.

This unfortunate incident has raised concerns within the community, as families and alumni gathered to celebrate their shared memories turned into a scene of panic and fear. The police department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
