Lori Vallow Daybell Found Guilty in Second Murder Conspiracy Case in Arizona
PHOENIX — A jury in Phoenix has found Lori Vallow Daybell guilty of conspiring to murder her niece’s ex-husband, Brandon Boudreaux, in 2019. This conviction marks her second murder conspiracy charge in Arizona within a short span of time. The jury reached its decision on Thursday regarding the plan to assassinate Boudreaux outside his home in Gilbert, a suburb of Phoenix. Just two months prior, in late April, an Arizona jury convicted Daybell for conspiring with her brother, Alex Cox, to kill her estranged husband, Charles Vallow, in Chandler, another suburb nearby.
This pattern of criminal behavior culminates in a troubling narrative that reveals Daybell’s troubling beliefs and associations. Known for her doomsday religious ideology, Daybell has also been sentenced to life in prison in Idaho for the murders of her two youngest children and her involvement in a plot to eliminate a romantic rival. She is due to be sentenced in both Arizona cases on July 25, with each conviction carrying the potential for a life sentence. Boudreaux testified that his ex-wife, Melani Pawlowski, was influenced by Lori Daybell and they began attending religious meetings together in 2018.
During this time, Pawlowski reportedly started advocating for food stockpiling in preparation for an apocalyptic event. In October 2019, Boudreaux experienced a terrifying incident when someone in a Jeep outside his residence fired a rifle shot at him, narrowly missing and damaging his car. He identified the Jeep as one previously driven by Vallow’s daughter, Tylee Ryan, before her untimely death. Despite lacking legal training, Daybell chose to represent herself in both Arizona trials.
